With rubber bands holding ponytails of at least 8 inches in length, each of the 175 “angels” waited patiently in their seats on the gymnasium floor this past Friday during the “Day of Giving” assembly. After performances by the dance team and various students, and the presentation of the Art Psaledas Award, the angels’ friends and family members joined them on the floor. With scissors ready, the “cutters” listened for the “3-2-1-cut,” which was the signal to cut off their angel’s ponytails, which will be turned into free real-hair wigs for cancer patients who have lost their hair as they go through chemotherapy treatments.
