Human Relations class’s quilt: A token of what friendship means
Students in Mrs. Harmon’s Human Relations class work together to show how important friendships can be by creating a class friendship quilt.
“Their squares are completely designed by them,” Harmon said. “They have a few guidelines to follow but other than that the square is completely based off of what they like and what their friends like.”
The students get to look through quilt books for inspiration and they also get to look at past squares created too. They have two days to work on their square in school and they can finish it at home if needed.
After they finish their square it’s hung up on the cabinet with the rest of the classes and creates a “quilt.”
“The students can give their completed square to their friends if they want, so this project serves as a two-for in the sense it’s a project grade and can be a Christmas present,” Harmon said. “It teaches the students about friendships and how important they can be.”
