On Saturday Feb. 4, over 20 students accompanied by their ambitious teachers Mr. Rosa, Ms. Skudder, Mrs. Donovan, and Ms. McMahon, participated in the Special Olympics New Hampshire High School Penguin Plunge at Hampton Beach. The team of plungers raised $6,835, took part in a banquet celebration, and eventually plunged into the Atlantic Ocean to benefit Special Olympics. It was the first year of plunging for many of the LHS attendees but all anticipate participating again.
“It was a very different event and experience from what I expected, but I had so much fun doing something for a great cause and enjoying the day with people who felt the same,” sophomore Morgan Brutus said.
