On March 14 at 10:00 am, the LHS student body has the opportunity to participate in the National School Walkout movement. After the school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, schools across the country are holding walkouts to memorialize the 17 students who were killed in the event. To participate in the walkout, students will leave their D period class at 10:00 am and exit the House 4 Doors. Then, walk to the south side of the gym and gather for opening remarks made my Eva Gertz and Chloe Wilson. There will be 17 minutes of silence to remember those who have have lost their lives in school shootings. There will be closing remarks done by the class presidents. After the ceremony is over, students will return to class.
