Mr. Parent congratulates freshman Emily Johnston for being a state semifinalist for the Letters About Literature contest.
Freshman Emily Johnston is a state semifinalist for the Letters About Literature contest sponsored by the Library of Congress and state libraries around the US. Johnston’s letter was one of 33 recognized in NH out of over 500 entrants.
“Emily is an excellent student,” said Mr. Brand, Johnston’s English 9 teacher. “Her quiet demeanor belies an active, clever mind.”
Brand said Johnston’s writing was judged not just against freshmen, but against students of all grades from other high school in New Hampshire.
The national nominees will be announced within the next few weeks.
