LHS golf lost against their long standing rival Pinkerton during the Mack Plaque match. Even though they lost, they plan to continue winning against other teams putting Mack Plaque 2020 behind them as they swing forward into the rest of the fall season.
“Although we lost Mack Plaque again this year, I know the team is practicing hard to improve our team scores in the rest of our matches,” Riley Anderson, senior, said.
Even though they have lost now, they have a good feeling for the rest of the season. The team seems to be in good spirits for upcoming matches.
“The team is very upbeat for the rest of the season and is excited to keep competing,” Anderson said.
With four of the players being seniors this year, the golf team has high hopes for the state championship coming up at Mount Washington Resort.
“I know my teammates are looking forward to playing this new course,” Anderson said.
Even though Anderson will be leaving LHS and the golf team next year, she puts her faith in the new players coming in this school year and next.
“I know the team next year will be competitive as well,” Anderson said. “It should be a good year for them.”
Despite the loss, Anderson is confident that the team will recover and have a successful season.
“Some words of inspiration that I would have for my team are to keep practicing and working on all the aspects of the game,” Anderson said.
