The girl’s varsity soccer team is heading into their first playoff game against Dover this Thursday at home.
The girls are currently in third place overall with a record of 13-3. Their final game of the regular season was on Friday afternoon at Timberlane, and was won in double overtime by a score of 2-1. The game winning goal was a header scored by junior midfielder Ali Nelson.
Last time the girl’s faced off against Dover in the regular season, the Lancers were victorious winning by a score of 4-1.
If the girls win this game, they will face either Winnacunnet or Concord in a semi-final game at home on Sunday.
“It’s our first playoff game, and even though we still have a couple things to work on, we’re still looking for the win,” senior captain June Cranmer said. “A big thing we need to work on is finishing because sometimes we get the ball up to the goal but can’t capitalize.”
The girls are really looking forward to a huge turnout of fans at this game, so get out and support the team.
