Christina Lauzon is joining the LHS staff as a chemistry teacher

A familiar name joins the LHS staff this year, as Christina Lauzon joins her husband, Jimmy Lauzon, who is the current coach of the football team.

Lauzon is joining the science department as a chemistry teacher after teaching at Goffstown High School for seven years and Somersworth High School for a year. After testing the waters at other schools, Lauzon wanted to shorten the commute and work in her own backyard.

“I really liked the community,” Lauzon said, “It’s closer to home, [and] I only wanted to live in Londonderry so it makes sense that I would want to teach there too.”

A new workplace comes with a lot of exciting changes to look forward to. New students, new classrooms, new materials, and most of all, new coworkers. These changes can be very exciting, especially after working in Goffstown for almost a decade.

“I am excited to learn from my colleagues,” Lauzon said, “Being at one school for so long I feel like it kind of got to the point where I was the one that was teaching everybody how to be a teacher and it is nice to have so many veteran teachers that can help me become a better teacher.”

Lauzon, who can always be seen with a smile on her face, understands the importance of a positive community here. The halls of the Londonderry could use a ray of sunshine after the darkness that’s been cast over the last two years.

“I preach kindness and I just hope that I bring kind and positive vibes to LHS,” Lauzon said.

With so much love for the community and hope for the year ahead of her, Lauzon preaches a few words of wisdom to students of LHS.

“Try and stay positive and be a part of the community, because it’s a good one,” Lauzon said.
