U.S. President Joe Biden will return to visit New Hampshire tomorrow, April 19, 2022, after his visit to Woodstock, N.H. in November where he promoted the benefits of the $1.2 trillion infrastructure package that he signed into law.
It has been confirmed by the office of U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan that President Biden will visit Portsmouth, N.H. on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 to discuss investments regarding infrastructure.
A statement made by the White House read, “President Biden will talk specifically about plans to improve ports and waterways and how this can strengthen our supply chains.”
Portsmouth Mayor Deaglan McEachern was not aware of Biden’s visit. He did provide a statement to Seacoastonline.com when contacted for comment.
“I’m honored that he’s coming to Portsmouth,” McEachern said. “The infrastructure money is having a meaningful impact in terms of property tax relief here in Portsmouth. I would love to talk about that more. It’s a meaningful amount of money that we’re already seeing.”
As the date of the visit approaches, more details regarding the visit are expected to be made public. Currently, there is no indication as to whether or not any events with the President will be open to the general public.
