Good morning, Mother Nature. It’s good to see you again.
I see your buds returning from their seasonal slumber.
This whistling breeze, the rustling of leafy branches,
And the sound of a bird’s charming melody;
The sweet scent of morning dew,
And the warm sunlight coming through my window;
The softness of my covers,
And the coolness of the forenoon air
All remind me that you’re here at last.
At last, the time for long, invigorating strolls,
Visits to the park,
Hiking journeys,
Fishing under the sun,
Can finally begin anew.
I rub the sleepiness out of my eyes, ready to get out and greet you proper,
To feel the soft, waking grass under my feet,
And the rays of easing sunlight on my skin
As the tranquility of Nature returns all around.
Even so, I do hope you could wait just a little longer before we reunite at last;
I want breakfast.
