Although the LHS video club didn’t win the state competition, the club was able to produce their video in a day. It took over ten hours of editing and the club had to fulfill competition requirements.
Junior Paige Scanlon said that creating the video “was a challenge.”
“Halloween psa is one [New Hampshire media teachers] do every year and they have a different set of requirements [and] different things that [we] have to include,” Scanlon said. “[The video] has to be a certain length.
The club had to create a 90 second video in a short amount of time. Editing took over ten hours and all the footage was filmed in a day.
Junior member Ty Holcombe said that the club is “trying to find everyone’s talents and really unleash them here.”
“This is a melting pot of ideas and people,” Holcombe said.
Not only did the club create their video, but they also enjoyed the process. Click here to watch the video.
“Just filming [the video] and spending time with each other was so much fun,” Holcombe said.
The club was able to balance working productively and also having a good time.
“The end result was important, but also it was supposed to be more about having fun,” Junior Breana Dumont said.
The current members are welcoming of anyone interested in joining them.
“It’s important that people are serious about [the club],” Scanlon said.
Aside from being serious about the club, Dumont said that those interested in the club should “have a good medium of being genuinely passionate about what [they’re] doing.”
If students are interested in the club they will have to find their own personal ways to balance hard work and enjoyment.
“If you’re only focused on the end result and you’re not enjoying [the process] then [the video] is going to fall flat in emotions,” Dumont said. “If you’re goofing off the whole time and not doing anything, then that’s also going to fall flat [with] a good end result.”
