Veteran’s Day is a day to remember.
To remember the men and women who chose to stand up rather than sit down.
To charge in rather than to wait.
To hold so dearly the freedoms we have in this country they were willing to risk their own lives so we could keep those freedoms.
To put their love of country over everything else.
Today we remember those men and women. And we honor them.
We’d especially like to honor the following LHS staff members who have served in the U.S. Military:
Science Teacher Tony Cariello, U.S. Army
School Nurse Sandy Dyche, U.S. Coast Guard
Custodian Zachary Ellicott, U.S. Army
Business Teacher Scott Greene, U.S. Army
Substitute Teacher Jerry Gulezian, U.S. Airforce
Paraprofessional Kendall Ives, U.S. Air Force
Parking Lot Monitor Joe Maccarone, U.S. Army
Custodian Timothy MacGregor Sr., U.S. Marine Corps
Custodian Alston Muir, U.S. Navy
Dining Manager David Orendorf, U.S. Army
Watch as Lancer Spirit FreeLancers Ava Alkhamis and Charlie Forbes speak with LHS staff who have served in the military about what Veterans Day means to them.

Thank-you to all from Londonderry High who have served. My husband and I appreciate all that you did for our country.
Ava and Charlie, you did a nice job interviewing these three veterans. It’s always interesting to learn why people chose to serve and which branch of the military they chose.
