When people in New Hampshire look for what’s going on with athletics in the state, many turn to social media to find out who’s winning and who might be losing. This creates opportunities for people to get their name out there, including junior Connor Ward, who runs the NH Unbiased Sports page.
Though Ward had different inspirations for coming up with his page, his original ideas have made his page blow up, gaining more followers every day.
“I got the idea from NH Sports Report after I saw one of their posts and thought the idea of talking about what’s going on with football in the state would be cool to do,” Ward said. “Then we turned it into all sports, not just football.”
While finding a name may have been difficult, Ward tries to stay true to the name he gave his sports page.
“[I] honestly could not think of another name for the life of me and made a deadline for myself,” Ward said. “I chose it because even though I go to Londonderry I’m not going to be biased towards them.”
Ward tries to keep up to date on what’s going on in division one and has made it one of his hobbies, including creating graphics with junior Carson Palma.
“Every week I look at the stats on the NH sports page and I look at every game’s score on NHIAA’s (New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association) ’s website so that I can make accurate rankings and standings about the teams,” Ward said.
So far, the account has reached 266 followers in the first month of its existence, with six posts covering football, basketball, and hockey power rankings.
