Craving a little friendly competition with your favorite teachers? Bring Change to Mind has partnered with the Athletic Leadership Council to hold their second annual Student vs. Faculty basketball game.
On Feb. 22 at 6:00 pm, join these clubs in the LMS gymnasium for the game. Tickets cost $1.00, with part of the proceeds funding BC2M’s mental health initiatives at LHS.
“It was a fun and productive event last year so we wanted to do it again,” senior BC2M president Amanda Robinson said. “We are trying to fundraise money for Lancer Speak Up Day and ways to improve overall mental health in our school.”
Though only seniors have the opportunity to play in the game, all students are encouraged to participate by cheering their classmates on and buying raffle tickets that will be drawn at halftime for prizes.
According to ALC adviser Amy Downing, teachers from both LHS and LMS will be participating.
Players for the Red Pen Warriors (the faculty team) include “Matthew Smith, Alison Gamache, William Dodge, Ashley Tebbets, Coach Jimmy Lauzon, Tyler Mastromarino, Garrett Poltack, [and] Derek Burkhardt from the [middle school],” Downing said. “We are hoping Rick Barnes and some of the APs will play and would love to get some more middle school teachers involved.”
