At approximately 10:22 a.m., a 3.8 magnitude earthquake in the North Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Maine. It’s score of 3.8 on the Richter scale makes it the greatest earthquake here in New Hampshire in the past decade. Though the earthquake was 9.7 mi east of Portsmouth, it’s shocks were felt throughout the state.
As of the latest update on Volcano Discovery, a website that tracks information on earthquakes, 1535 people have reported feeling shaking they connected to this earthquake.

One such person who felt those shakes was music teacher Danielle Loschavio.
Danielle Loschavio was spending her prep period in the Music Department and thought nothing of it.
“I was in my office and I thought it was like when a plane buzzes by a building too close,” Loschavio said.
