Glass shelves line the hallways of the school displaying cherished memories of former loved ones. A place of love and care shines through in another garden that branches off the school’s main lobby. Although some of these dates go back into the 1990s, most faculty members at LHS still cherish the memories they shared with these people. Many teachers described these fallen soldiers as kind, soft spoken, and someone you would want to know.
Former Londonderry Lancer, Peter J. Sora, class of 2002, served in the Marines. His death was announced on Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at Twentynine-Palms, CA. He passed from injuries sustained in a Marine training accident.
Sora will forever be loved by his family and friends. His bravery profoundly touches many, and he will be greatly missed.
Tyler Pimpis graduated from high school in 2009. Pimpis joined the U.S. Army in 2010. He served in a combat deployment in Afghanistan in 2011 and 2012. He passed away stationed in Fort Hood, Texas from a motor vehicle accident on August 28, 2013. Pimpis will be remembered for his bravery, and hard work.
Jerry Gulezian, a substitute teacher who’s been at the school for over a decade, lost his son, Mark Gulezian.
Gulezian served for sixteen years and eight months in the United States Army. His deployments were going to Korea once, twice to Iraq, and twice to Afghanistan. His last station was his home station in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
He meant a lot to his family and friends. Gulezian sadly passed away on October 10, 2014. His courage resonates deeply with many, and he will be dearly missed.
Timothy R. Meuse, a soldier in the Army Specialist Infantryman Unit, passed away on September 16, 2018 at Fort Riley, Kansas from a motorcycle accident. Meuse was attached to the First Infantry Division, 1st Combined Arms Battalion, an Armed Brigade Combat Team of the “Big Red One.” Meuse’s death will forever be mourned by his family and friends.
Two years after Meuse’s passing, Ronald J. Ouellette Jr, a member of the U.S Air-Force, passed away on September 14, 2020 in Kuwait due to injuries suffered in an ATV accident. According to Air Force resources, his accident is still under investigation. With that in mind, he will always be valued by his loved ones.
A year later, Lancer Nation lost Brandon T. Martinez, a member of the U.S. Army. He passed away in South Korea on Saturday June 19, 2021.
Throughout his two years in the army, he received the ARMY Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Ribbon.
Martinez’s legacy still lives on to this day.
