Good news for students and staff: The LHS gym which was recently affected by structural concerns, is now undergoing repair to ensure it remains fully operational for upcoming events and practices.
At their last meeting, they received additional information on other building that also need repair within the district, one being the LHS gym roof. It’s been confirmed by the Londonderry School Board that LHS’s gym’s structural damage is being addressed, with repairs set to restore the space to full functionality in no time.
Londonderry Times Editor Alex Malm stated in Volume 27- Issue 13 on April 3. that the AW Therrien Roof Company has secured the LHS Gymnasium roof. However, to avoid further damage to the building, the roof needs to be fully replaced before another full winter season.
The estimated cost will be roughly $275,000 at this time. Londonderry School Business, Administrator Amity Small, is looking for ways to collaborate with Primex Insurance to seek possible reimbursement regarding the matter. At this time it is uncertain, yet possible that the District might need to come up with the funds to fix the roof.
The School Board has approved moving forward with the matter and plans to make finalized decisions regarding financial standpoints at upcoming meetings. More information will come on the matter.
