The boys’ soccer all-state teams have been announced for NH, and Londonderry’s Nate Gaw, Griffin Cowles, and Nick Vanini have been recognized for their performance and contribution this season in getting the Lancers to the championship game.
“All three are great players and deserve the recognition of all-state,” junior midfielder Jayden West said.
Nate Gaw: First team all-state
“Nate is an offensive threat and can change the game whenever he turns it on,” West said.
Senior midfielder and captain Nate Gaw has been on the all-state team since his freshman year. He was first on all-state honorable mention, then his sophomore and junior year he made 2nd team, and finally this senior year he made first team. Gaw led his team with 18 goals and 7 assists, making him the leading goal scorer this season.
Griffin Cowles: Second team all-state
“Griffin is a pure center mid, and many of Nate Gaw’s goals would not have been possible if it were not for him,” senior teammate Tommy Stanley said.
With six goals and fifteen assists, senior captain Griffin Cowles is one of the best midfielders in the school and state. He has been on the varsity team since his sophomore year and had an assist during the semi-final game against Hanover.
Nick Vanini: Second team all-state
“Nick is a strong defender who plays and trains yearly which showed throughout the season,” West said.
Junior defenseman Nick Vanini leads the defense with his hard work and aggressive mindset. Vanini made many big plays in the back this season and hopes to help continue the team’s success next year.
