The cafeteria was transformed into a winter wonderland at the Holiday Winter Festival this past Saturday.
The freshman class put on their first Holiday Winter Festival in the cafeteria on Saturday, Dec. 22 from 10 am-2pm. With face painting, cookie decorating, ornament making and pictures with iconic christmas characters, several families were able to get into the Christmas mood.
“We are doing this to raise money for our class while still providing Christmas joy for the children of Londonderry,” freshman class president Michael Kennedy said. “It is awesome to see that we can raise money while still putting smiles on kids’ faces.”
The freshman class reps and their advisers Ms. Skudder and Mr. Milne had been planning the event for two months prior.
“It took a lot of trips to Walmart, but it was worth it when we saw the kids enjoying themselves,” Kennedy said. “If all goes well we will definitely be making this [an] annual [event].”
