The Community Service Club spent Thursday afternoon making blankets for the elderly. They made three blankets in total which will be donated to a nursing home.
Using a variety of patterned fabrics, the club made the blankets by stacking two square pieces of fabric on top of each other. To connect the fabrics, they cut strips along all four sides and tied the strips together creating cozy fleece blankets.
Other group activities the club has done in the past include writing letters to hospital patients, writing thank you cards for teachers, and creating baskets for veterans.
The Community Service Club meets every other Thursday in room 621 and welcomes new members throughout the year. Club calendars of meetings and events are located in a folder on the bulletin board in the second floor of the 600 wing.
