Teachers put their whiteboard markers and textbooks away and hopped onto the stage to perform at the math team’s seventh annual Teacher Talent Show on January 28. While there were a few returning acts in the show, there were also a few new ones. For the fourth consecutive year artwork was on display throughout the evening as well.
Math Team adviser Mr. Wenger reached out to teachers and staff, local business, and used the help of the Math Team to make this year’s show a success.
“Overall, it’s a lot of fun,” Wenger said. “We are very fortunate to have teachers willing to donate their time and help make this happen.”
The money raised by the talent show will go towards the Math Team and will also be donated to Little Acts of Kindness and Warm Homes.
“It’s a fair amount of work to get it organized,” Wenger said. “I want to thank sponsors and all of the generous people in town who help out.”
Sophomores Alesandra and Angelina Bernardini sang the Star-Spangled Banner to open the show. Mr. Juster hosted the night and introduced the judges, seniors Dale Larie, Orianna Kane, Haley Gilbert, Jillian Murray, and Elijah Ellis.
Artwork on display included drawings from freshman Urvi Chakraborty, a cherry wood table made by senior Sean Psaledas, wood frames and boxes created by Mr. Duffy, toll paintings from Ms. Levesque, photography taken by Mrs. Mee, and scarves knitted by Mrs. Robinson.
“The teacher talent show is a fantastic fundraiser for the Math Team,” senior and Math Team member Katy Gore said. “It’s a great way for students to enjoy a night of entertainment with their friends while discovering hidden talents that their teachers have.”
