Where are you from?
I am from New Jersey. I attended high school there before moving to Massachusetts where I lived for 14 years. In 2004 I moved to Londonderry.
How long have you been a cop?
I’ve been a cop for 12 years. I stated in Massachusetts and I was a patrol officer in Londonderry before I took this position in March.
Are you married?
I am married. My wife is a nurse who works at the Concord hospital. We have two kids: a son who is six and a daughter who is three.
Do you have any pets?
I had a pitbull named Chloe for fourteen years. I actually rescued our current pitbull, Charlie when he was abandoned by his owner. The pound wanted to put him down. I am a big dog person and I couldn’t let them kill him. We took him in and he’s three years old now.
What hobbies do you have?
I am really into sports especially basketball and baseball. I don’t play as much anymore because I’ve gotten older and busier.
What is your favorite sports team?
It’s not going to make me any friends around here but I’m a New York Giants fan. It’s the New Jersey in me.
So far how do you feel about the new job and LHS?
Its very different. As a patrol officer I didn’t deal with kids that much so I have a lot to learn. I like the job and the school and am excited.
What do you deal with on a day to day basis?
The biggest things I’ve dealt with so far are bullying and marijuana. The assistant principals will call me in to handle a situation having to do with bullying. It is shocking to see how cruel some kids can be. Our main concern is preventing students from hurting themselves or others.
I also see a lot of pot. Kids come in smelling like marijuana and Mrs. Goodrow in the front can tell.
What is something you hope to bring to LHS or something you want the student body to know?
I’ve seen a lot of suicides and the effect they have on the families. If I can stop even one kid from doing anything like that it’s worth it. I want to be able to help kids and make a difference in their lives. I don’t really like talking about myself, but if there was one thing I’d say I’m a friendly and approachable guy. If there is ever a problem or need to talk, come on in.
