Edmodo needs to step aside and share some of the limelight with the new app in town. The Waterlogged app may not be on your iPhone home bar at the moment, but it should at least earn a download soon.
Dehydration is a common problem for people and unless you’re drinking four or more Poland Spring bottles a day, you’re one of the many.
And no, four soda cans isn’t equivalent.
If you’re not continuously drinking throughout the day, chances are you’re not hydrated. Dehydration poses a serious health threat and frequently leads to headaches or struggles during physical activity.
Anyone that is physically active can recollect on a time when they just didn’t hydrate properly and during practice they felt the Sahara Desert forming under their tongue.
Once you become thirsty, it’s too late and your body is already dehydrated. The goal of Waterlogged is to get you hydrated and keep you hydrated before it’s too late.
No matter how many times you tell yourself you’ll drink more water, it rarely happens. Or maybe you’ll drink a gallon for one day and then never have another sip of water.
Humans need someone to get on their back to accomplish something and they need recognition when they do reach their achievement. That’s just what Waterlogged does.
Waterlogged is the perfect hydration coach, all bottled up in one tiny app.
The app itself is simple:
First, you set a goal. Sixty-four is the magic number of ounces that most people aim for.
Then, you go about your day, taking your sips regularly.
Finally, when you finish your bottle or glass or sippy cup-whatever your container of choice is- you click on the graphic water bottle and log down how many ounces you just drank. The water bottle will then be virtually filled up with water. If you fill up your water bottle entirely, you’ve reached your goal and the app will offer you several congratulatory words.
Throughout the day, you can set the app so that the red badge icon shows how many ounces remain to be drank. Everyone hates that persistent badge of doom, especially if the number it holds is a whopping 64.
This little badge alone will make you drink more water than you ever have before.
No one wants to set a goal only to fall short, so when you see the water just about to reach the cap of the bottle, you’ll make sure get that last sip in before the day is done.
